On
23 December 2004 , the United Nations General
Assembly declared 19 December of each year as the United
Nations Day for South-South Cooperation (resolution 58/220).
This marks the date, in 1978, when the General Assembly
endorsed the Buenos Aires Plan of Action for Promoting and
Implementing Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries
(resolution 33/134).
