Ashoka: Innovators for the Public was started in 1981 by social entrepreneurial pioneer Bill Drayton, to support and celebrate social entrepreneurs -- individuals who create new and innovative ways to solve social problems. Ashoka has supported the work of more than 1800 social entrepreneurs in 60 countries, who are elected as Ashoka Fellows. Some of these social entrepreneurs are featured on this website.
