Gary
Ferdman is the Director of Major Gifts for Common Cause, a nonpartisan advocacy
organization committed to an open and accountable government and encouraging citizens
to actively participate in the democratic process. Formerly, with Ben Cohen he
co-founded Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities and TrueMajority, and served
as Executive Director of Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities. BLSP's mission
is to "increase funding to meet the needs of our children and children around
the world (at no additional taxpayer expense) by reducing money spent on cold
war era weapon systems and other Pentagon programs that are not needed in the
post-Cold War world." The Priorities! Campaign also includes the nonprofit's
4 other projects: Religious Leaders for Sensible Priorities, Entertainers for
Sensible Priorities, Military Advisory Committee and TrueMajority, a grassroots
education and advocacy project empowering citizens to take action on critical
issues with the click of a button on their computers.
